Are we talking about (I CAN wash them,I just don't NEED to)? Or I shouldn't as them because it's bad? BTW can I buy Soakers in any kate shop? Also,do they sell anything specail to cover your whole skate leather included while there in your bag being stored?

You CAN wash them, but you don't NEED to (at least, not every time - only when they're really dirty).  Just like you CAN wrap your skates up entirely in towels, but you don't NEED to.  Some people do have bags made out of towels - they put the whole skate in the towel bag, and then put that in their skate bag.  It's possible to buy them ready-made, or people make them themselves out of old towels.  But, again, you don't NEED to do that.  And, yes, you should be able to buy soakers in any skate shop.

Say,I was also wonderng about some good Off-Ice-Training excerises for just the feet (just your whole foot). To keep them in shape so nothing happens to keep you from skating.

FSWer's Off- Ice-Training Report 2/10/11

Ok my fellow Skaters!!!! Here is todays Report...

Back Leg-Lifts = I was able to still lift my Legs up higher.

Stomach Leg-Lifts = I was able to lift my Legs up higher, and it has become easier. At least as far as I can tell.

Spiral Leg- Lifts = Worked on lifting my Legs up.

Push- Ups = Were still easy today.

Sit - Ups = Kept my Feet more flat.

My Bike is still broken.

I am also still working on getting some Skating Dates from our Supervisor to get back down to the Rink. As I was thrown off. Also I have a question. I also tried the flexability excerise (were you lay on the floor with one Leg stretched out in back, the other stretched out in front) the way Sasha does sometimes..and I found that I couldn't do it. MY Leg just kept going to the side. Can someone please explain how to do this, and what I might be doing wrong, and how I should be doing it? Thanks.

Ok my fellow Skaters!!!! Here is my Report from today!!!!

Back Leg-Lifts = I can NOW lift my Legs up with about full straigh.

Stomach Leg-Lifts = I am NOW able to lift my Legs up higher.

Spiral Leg-Lifts = I worked on lifting my Legs up.

Push-Ups = were easy today.

My Bike is still broken. However,I DID try something new. I tried reaching for my toes with my Legs spread out like this...V. I don't know if I'm doing it right. But at least I CAN do that. As I don't know how to (or even if I can) get my Legs like a Tee.  Like this..T. As I've sometimes seen other skates do. Well,TTFN. Until my next Report.

Ok my fellow Skaters!!! Here it is....FINALLY!!!!

My Staff got me to the Rink a little after 11:30. I registered with my Skate Passes and put on my Skates, helmet.and Gaurds. I went into the Rink (Blue) about 5min. before 12:00. My Staff then left. The Zomboni was just finishing up. I then got on the ice with all the rest of the skaters. The Rink was PACKED today!!!! As we shared the Rink with a Birthday Party...as WELL as a WHOLE Rink of Skaters!!!...We also had a Skater there from a Synchronized Skating Team (I think Prelimanary,if I remember right). I didn't even think Synchronized Skaters even WENT to Public Skates!!!! I tried a couple of jumps, and I'm not sure. But I think I got a little higher this time!! As well as some Spins, and Skating Backwards. I bent my Legs back as I had been told in order to do it.(But for some reason, all that hapens when I bend my knees is that I just end up skating with bent knees forward). Can anyone please help me? I also tried lifting one Leg. But my foot just wants to keep going down. I went around the Rink once at the end. Then went home.

Ok my fellow Skaters!!! Here is todays Report....

My Legs are getting more flexable on both my Back and Stomach Leg-Lifts.

On my Spiral Leg-Lifts I can still lift my Legs with flexability. Or so I call it that anyway.

My Push-Ups were easy today.

On my Sit-Ups I worked to keep my feet flat.

For my Sit-Toe-Touches. I can stretch. But I'm not sure if I'm doing them right. I'm sitting on the floor with my Legs like this...V.Then taking 1 arm at a time, and stretching forward once and counting to 10 twice on both Legs. Is that the correct way to do them.

Ok my fellow Skaters!!!! Here it is....

For both my Back and Somach Leg-Lifts = My Legs are still more flexable.

On Spiral Leg-Lifts = I worked on getting my Legs higher and leaning forward. A question here...Does whether you Left or Right handed have anything to do with if you are able to bend or lift a Leg up when doing a Spiral Leg-Lift? Because I'm Left handed, and find my Left Leg easier to lift up and bend. Am I right? btw. is Spirl Leg-Lift the correct name for those kinds of Leg-Lifts?

My Push -Ups were easy today.

On Sit-Ups = I kept my feet more flat.

On Sit-Toe-Touches = I was able to touch my toes. But then again. I move my feet. So I might have cheated. But I'm not sure. LOL.

Yes if you're left-footed (ie: you kick a ball with your left foot), it will often be the leg easier to lift.

Ok my fellow Skaters!!! Here I am again....back from the Rink. The Report goes like this....

I got to the Rink a little before Noon. I Registered at the Desk with my Skate-Passes,and sat down to put on my Skates and Gaurds. I finally got them on,right on the first try. Though never have practiced much with doing it one-foot in the air leaving the ice. So I don't know the trick to,or even mastered it yet. My Staff dropped me off and after I got my Gaurds on. I went into the Pro-Shop to check out Soakers (they turn out to be $10.00 a pack. The guy said you keep them on the blades while you have them in storage. Is that true? Also can anyone tell me if since I'm wrapping my skates in towels. If I CAN still use Soakers? It's just not nessacery? Or if I shouldn't. Also, for rust. I DO have a line of Rust on the side of the Blade near the end and Toe-Pick of 1 skate. On both sides. Can anyone please tell me if I can just go into the Shop at the same time I have my Skates sharpened and have that removed? I hoe I've descriving what I have right btw.). Anyway I went into the Blue Rink to sit down and get ready to go on the ice,and it was quiet to start. But we then wound-up sharing the Rink with a Birthday Party. Which I admit is fun. LOL. There was also a skater there who was 7 years old and already had her Double-Axel!!! (I have an idea for a thread on that. So watch for it). After that. I went home.

Ok my fellow Skaters!!!! Here it is....

My Staff dropped me off at the Rink a little after Noon (yes my Staff was late). I went in and registered with my Skate Passes. I also found out today that you also now have to sign in at my Rink as well as show your Passes. If you have them that is. As Newington says it's to help see how many skaters (or as they called it people) are on the ice. I'm not sure if this is only for Public Skate. Or if it's for all-around Freestyle and Hockey, etc. too. I'm also subspecting it must have someting to do with them mixing a lot of Birthday Parties with Public Skate. So they can keep the Rink from overcrowding. Anyway,I went in and got my Skates on....and got on the ice.I ended up sharing the Rink with a Birthday Party again. It is a lot of skaters...but a whole lot of fun too!!! I tried a couple of Jumps,as well as a few Spins. I also had to support myself to keep from falling while gliding up by holding a little kid for the first time. But it also turned out that both the kid and I feel. He was ok though. I also saw a father skating with a 3 year old  holding the kid up. Skating backwards. The guy rammed into me!!! He is lucky he didn't fall with that kid!!!! I also skated once around the Rink with anothe Skater. If things go well I go back on the 24th. BTW. a question about Soakers. I asked the guy in my Rink's shop about them and he said you keep them on the Blade while skates are stored. Is that true? Is it also ok to buy them if I wrap my skates in towels? Also as far as rust. Can the guy simple remove the rust for me at the same time I have my skates sharppened?

That's right - you put the soakers on your blades while the skates are stored.  If you continue to wrap your skates in towels, you don't really need soakers.  If you decide to get soakers, you don't need to keep using the towels to wrap the skates.  You would just use a towel to dry the blades, then put the soakers on.

If there's any rust on your blades, it will come off when they are sharpened.
